Most people
leave college relieved and ready to start a new chapter. I, however, had to be
dragged out kicking and screaming. You see, college was my dream. My whole
childhood I daydreamed and wondered about my college self. I thought of text
books and homecoming and frat parties and cute fall outfits and sipping tea in the
library. I had such a romantic view of it all that it painted a clear path for
me-- work really hard in high school, go to a good college,
study hard, have fun and then find a job. I hadn’t really thought about life
past that point.
Well, there I was ending my college chapter and, while I had a
great job offer, I really wasn’t sure what was to come. I couldn’t picture
myself and the thought of leaving my little college community for the vast "big
girl" world was daunting.
Fast forward 4 months and I am living in New York City with my
roommate, who I’ve known forever, and working 8 to 7. So, why write a blog you
ask? Well it’s simple, working in finance doesn’t exactly fill my need for
all things creative. I have an array of passions including but not limited to fashion, home décor,
beauty, celebrity, fitness, food, art, technology… (you get the picture).Gosh, that sounded so corny, still trying to find my blog voice...
Starting a new chapter in life is exciting but also a time
to step back and reevaluate what you want and who you are. Through this blog, I
hope to share some of my passions and (try) to organize my thoughts into one
place. I thought pinterest would do it for me but I just need to have the writing component too.
So here I am: 22 years old living in the city and trying to find my place in
this big world. Basically, I’m a big cliché and proud of it!
