Natural Beauty: Beautycounter

I've been slowly transitioning all of my products, especially my skincare products, to natural products and I recently came across a brand that I have dumped all of the other natural and non-natural products for. I was introduced to Beautycounter when the products were featured on jcrew.com and I placed a big order on their website for serum, moisturizer, sunscreen, concealer, shampoo and conditioner. I loved all of my products so much that I went back and ordered a lot more from the site. I cannot recommend Beautycounter enough especially if you are looking to transition to all-natural products without compromising quality. Plus, the bottles look great on my counter! Below are my favorite picks.

Apartment Inspiration

We're getting so close to finishing decorating our apartment with the rug going down yesterday in the living room and our living room table arriving but we still have some work to do on the décor end. Tory loves fur pelts and leather and rustic elements and I am drawn to more classic, clean elements (white...) but our styles coming together look quirky and so us. I don't want to give any sneak peaks yet because I think you will all love the photos when the whole thing is finished. We also have an outdoor space that we have no idea what to do with but we're excited to brainstorm! My Life Lately

Lots going on since the move! I've been in LA (Santa Monica to be exact!) for about a month now and time has flown by! My classes at FIDM start in two weeks and I'm so excited for my program there. Work is as busy as ever, with business at johnnie-O booming. Tory and I are getting settled in the apartment and loving the location. We both love interior design so it has been a fun process combining our styles! I had my birthday a few weeks back and got some amazingggg shoes that I have been dying for (thanks family!). We went to the Katy Perry concert last Friday, which was AMAZING. We've really been digging the LA cuisine and weather and activities and as of now, I am never moving home... just kidding, mom!

Overstock

Overstock.com is not a website most people would think of to buy trendy furniture and home décor (and a slew of other things!) but the site has been a lifesaver for purchases Tory and I have needed in our apartment. Not to mention at a fraction of the price of other retailers... Tory was looking for a desk similar to the West Elm Parsons desk and we found an almost identical one that was $300 less. An absolute steal! I was looking for a vanity/desk for my room and found the perfect one.  They have gorgeous jute rugs, x benches, bar stools and their headboards are awesome. We even got a set of my absolute favorite wishbone chairs for half off. I'm sold...Tory and I are almost all settled in and I can't wait to show you pictures of the finished apartment in the next week or so. Have a great weekend! xo

Wicker Baskets

Tory and I are always desperate for storage - we have way too much stuff! I love making the storage look like it actually goes with the room. Wicker baskets, whether they're on a book case or in the bathroom, add a great feel to any room. We recently got this awesome one from Target that sits beside our couch and is perfect to store throw blankets, magazines, or other miscellaneous living room items. I also love my wicker laundry basket from Home Goods and ikea has awesome ones too!

Happy Birthday to Me!

 

Today I am 24. I know it's not a big birthday by big birthday standards but with a new city and job and school on the horizon, it feels pretty big to me! Here's to a great year ahead - I've always been a fan of even numbers! Thanks for sticking by me through my spotty posting these days - I promise once I'm settled I'll be getting lots of good West Coast content up.
