Apartment Inspiration

We're getting so close to finishing decorating our apartment with the rug going down yesterday in the living room and our living room table arriving but we still have some work to do on the décor end. Tory loves fur pelts and leather and rustic elements and I am drawn to more classic, clean elements (white...) but our styles coming together look quirky and so us. I don't want to give any sneak peaks yet because I think you will all love the photos when the whole thing is finished. We also have an outdoor space that we have no idea what to do with but we're excited to brainstorm! Apartment Inspiration

As I've mentioned about a thousand times, I'm moving to the West Coast and after a few months of shackin' up at home, I'm pretty excited to get my decorating on again! Below are some dream apartment inspirations that are by far better looking than my apartment/house will ever be but I pride myself on bargain hunting so you never know...

Designer Spotlight: Ashley Whitaker

Ashley Whitaker's designs have been popping up on Pinterest and I have been drooling over all of them. Some of my all-time favorite pins are her designs and I didn't even know it! Her website describes her as a "neo-traditionalist" designer and says she is "characterized by tailored rooms that incorporate charming detail and engaging play on color and pattern." The New York City designer has got mixing color and patterns down to a tee while still knowing how to keep a room from looking busy. Below are a few of her designs that are my favorite. P.S. Have a great weekend everyone! I'm off to Canada tomorrow (yes, I know, how un-American to go to Canada for the 4th) to see Riley and am so excited for my week off!

January Mood Board

Hope everyone's January is going well. The city has been pretty mild weather wise and the sun has even come out a few times. I decided to create a January "mood board" and it's filled with lots of subdued colors you would expect from January. There are lots of grays and blacks and whites and a few pops of red. I love the navy and blue of the bed in the top left corner as well as the velvet and luxe materials in the living room below the cars. I particularly like that they painted the bookshelves and door frame a glossy black (something I want to try in the future)! The bathroom also has painted black accents, which I love. As for the artwork I chose, I love the smudged look of both the cars and the ladies in dresses. What would be on your January mood board? I can't wait for my spring mood board when I can really go crazy with colors and pastels!

Sunburst Mirrors

Sunburst mirrors are really hot right now and I finally found one to put above my bar cart in my living room. It's really cute and was inexpensive (from Home Goods)! Below are some of my favorite uses of the piece.
