A couple of things I have my eye on this week - that Madewell jean vest is wonderful, the Chloe chunky heels with scallops and rivets are A+ and Tory and I are thinking of getting that great buffalo print to put above credenza. The Asos romper, I just got for Coachella and I'm loving Warby Parker's sunglasses this season. Off to Coachella this weekend - follow @metropolitan_musings on instagram to get updates!

Artist of the Day: Carter Kustera
I have been obsessed with Carter Kustera since I saw his silhouettes in the Westchester Mall at the Barneys outlet plastered all over the dressing rooms. I didn't know they were by him but the quirky sayings and bright colors stuck in my mind. Years later, I saw he was doing a special with Jonathan Adler but they were a bit out of my price range at the time. And then - this morning I saw custom portraits were available on Gilt City for much less and I jumped at the opportunity to get a few. My dream would be to have a full gallery wall but I purchased three for now. The great thing is, you get to pick your color and saying and it is a real silhouette based on the picture you send. And he paints animals too! Cannot wait to add mine to our gallery wall! Aren't they fun?

Hanging Art
Tory and I are settled in our apartment and absolutely loving it but on the hunt for 1. an ottoman with tray situation 2. credenza/buffet with storage underneath and 3. we need to get our gallery wall up. I recently made a trip back to NY and stayed with my friend Caroline, who has the cutest gallery wall in her apartment. It inspired me to get moving on ours. How do you guys handle hanging art? Do you like random gallery walls or more structured lines? We have a mix of photographs and prints and all different sized frames so it will definitely take some time to arrange but I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Artist of the Day: Donald "Drawbertson" Robertson
I have been seeing some really cool prints around pinterest and did a little digging to find out about the artist. Donald Robertson ("Drawbertson" - get it??) is the head of Creative Development at Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and was one of the three original founders of MAC cosmetics. The best part about his drawings, doodles and collages is that he uses light-hearted subject matter and they're fun and colorful. Many feature pop culture moments and are very fashion-forward. I would love to snag one of these gorgeous prints. Below are a few of my favorites.

Etsy Favorites 1.30.14
I adore Etsy for home goods, beautiful cards and unique finds. Below are some of my favorite things on the site for sale right now. I am obsessed with the globe and the vintage suitcases. I also really want a juju hat for my apartment and love that a bunch of Etsy shops use fun fabrics for pillows like Kelly Wearstler's confetti print.

Birthday Wishlist
I know it's a little premature (my birthday isn't until a week from Thursday) but I always get excited for my birthday so I thought I'd post my ultimate wishlist. I'd be lucky to get any of these.. maybe I should start buying lottos tickets again??
Some of the items on here are classics like nude louboutins and an hermes belt but some are a bit more modern like the Maison Gray print, Brooke Gregson "virgo" necklace (you can pick your sign) and Helmut Lang leather jacket. Drybar gift certificates or "coasters" are an awesome gift for any girl in your life and at $40 bucks a pop I think I'll take those over flowers any day! The Nikon portrait lens is so that I can take better pics for the blog and who isn't lusting after the valentino studded heels?? What items are on your wishlists recently?

Artist of the Day: Gray Malin of Maison Gray
I've been seeing these wonderful aerial beach photos on Pinterest and blogs and finally figured out that they belong to Gray Malin of Maison Gray. Malin grew up in Dallas, went to Emerson College and has quickly become a rising star in the art world.
The colors in the photos are gorgeous and the shots are fun and bright and Gray must hateeee going to these terrrrible locations to shoot! He
also shoots most of his aerial ones from a doorless helicopter so he's
also really cool. Did I mention he is only 27?! Let's just say I am a
bit jealous! I am obsessed with the photos and now they offer wallpaper and even swim trunks for men. I would loveeee a huge ski or beach print over my couch. I also love the idea of doing a big triptych. You can buy his photos here.
