Gift Guide: For the Guys

Hi everyone! I have been getting a lot of requests for my gift guides so here is the first one. I know it's a bit late but hope it helps : ) What are you gifting the guys in your life?

Of course, I'm biased but I pretty much think anything from Johnnie-O is a home run for boys and men. I even gifted the girls in my life this nifty tote bag that I designed.

johnnie-O tie - they have them for boys too!

johnnie-O Sully 1/4 Zip Pullover - they also come with his favorite MLB team logo or select school emblems. With a bunch of colors and super soft material, you really can't go wrong with this one.

johnnie-O polo - there are lots to choose from but this is one of my new favorites. It has a cotton-blend material that holds its shape and is very comfortable for on and off the golf course.

Away bags are practical and stylish. Get him his monogram so he doesn't misplace it in baggage claim.

Speaking of travel bags, I love this one from Mark and Graham, but looks like everyone else does too since it's backordered until March!

I don't know if I'll ever understand this one, but gift it and prepare for some big smiles. One of these axes from Best Made are sure to be a unique favorite under the tree.

Let's talk about shoes: AllBirds and Tods top my gifting list but I am also loving the Common Project ones below. The site where I found the Tods and Common Projects is Mr. Porter and they have one of the better gift guides for men that I've seen.

All Birds - I like this gray or the Moss color

Tods - This gray color is super versatile

Accessories are good stocking stuffers and for under the tree. Everything from wallets, to sunglasses, to a watch, are good bets.

Smathers and Branson Belt - they also have custom ones that are really cool.

Shinola makes a great wallet. Mark and Graham also has some great ones.

I love the look of this classic Shinola watch

A scarf is a gift he won't buy himself but will love when he realizes how much warmer it makes his outfit. This one from Burberry is a forever scarf.

Warby Parker makes great sunglasses for men and women that don't break the bank. I like this pair

Guys always need socks. Give them this fun three pack from Paul Smith.

Electronics can be tricky because lots of guys are particular but the below are some highly requested items.

I actually bought these headphones for myself as well : )

My brother requested this golf gadget

And now some miscellaneous ones:

Truman's makes great men's grooming products and I love the packaging. If the guy you're gifting is in the NYC area, get him a Truman's experience haircut, shave, facial or mani/pedi. He'll feel pampered but it's in a manly setting.

If he needs a new winter/ski jacket, try Stio.

Another thing he won't gift himself but will love? One of these sustainably made, unbelievably thick, plush and delicious cashmere blanket from Naadam. This is another one I bought for myself : )

Okay, that's all I've got for now. For more gift guides or just all around great sites for guys, try Huckberry or Sid Mashburn. Lulu Lemon is also generally a crowd pleaser.

I'm working on my gift guide for the gals and will hopefully have it up before the end of the weekend. For some reason I find it much easier shopping for guys - do you all too?

For the Gals - Christmas Edition

I know this gift guide is coming a littleeeee too close to Christmas but I was finishing up school and an incredibly busy holiday season at johnnie-O so I was a little crunched for time. Thanks to one "fan" for politely nudging me to get it up : ) Anyways, buying gifts for girls is tough. Whether buying for your mom, sister, co-worker, girlfriend, etc., it's important that you keep the end recipient in mind. Riley recently told me that he read that if you give someone a gift that you love then they will be more prone to love it too. I don't know if there is any science behind that (I don't think I'd love a drone or a bunch of golf gear...) but when gifting your gals, keep it in mind.

For your co-worker, firm friend, office buddy, manager, assistant:

1. These Parker Thatch (used to be iomoi) custom totes are so cute and functional

2. A nice candle is always appreciated

3. A monogrammed key chain tassel is thoughtful and fun

For your mom:

1. A luxurious cashmere travel set will make her feel special

2. If your mom is anything like mine, she prefers home goods to clothes so go for a great tray or marble cheese board or these awesome monogrammed copper mugs that I've blogged about a bunch.

For your sisters:

1. A hat with a furry pom pom is the ultimate accessory for winter

2. Every girl needs a Naked smoky eye eye shadow palette. It is divine and a great stocking stuffer.

3. A big, cashmere scarf can double as a "travel wrap/blanket" and are so cozy.

4. And if you're a reallllllly good sister, every girl would love a pair of these Valentino rockstud pumps
What am I asking Santa for?? I always go big and ask Santa for what I really want. What do you have to lose?? Dream on, Clare....ha!

1. These horoscope necklaces are amazing. Virgo necklace for me, pretty please!!

2. Balenciaga bag or PS1 or Chloe one (I have a problem).....

4. Obsessed with these Gianvito rossi booties - swoooooon.

5. These Adidas sneakers are all the rage. Love these ones too.

6. Need this Mara Hoffman top

7. A new swimsuit is always fun

10. These glitter Christian Louboutin's are festive and fun and I love the ones with the hearts but what I really need(re:want) are these black heels that are just the right height and I'll have forever (size 7.5 for anyone who's reading....)

11. Any of these....

Gifts for the Guys in Your Life

1. Suede driving moccasins - Every guy needs a pair of these comfortable classics. They go well with jeans or khakis and can be casual or dressed up. I love these Tod's ones in a versatile gray and Sid Mashburn's versions in Navy and Brown. Sid Mashburn has amazing stuff so a gift card from there would also be a great gift. I gave one to each of my brothers two years ago and they love their stuff.

2. A custom suit from Suit Supply - A custom suit elevates a guy's look and Suit Supply has some beautiful fabrics and you won't have to pay a bespoke price.

3. A sporty winter jacket - Patagonia is the best of the best. Great for cold days or skiing/snowboarding.

4. A more formal winter jacket - J.Crew has some classics and Mr. Porter has more expensive but amazing gear. I'm also a big fan of Barbour jackets - more of a Fall play but layers well and is an absolute classic.

5. Travel essentials - Tory's boyfriend is asking for a monogrammed garment bag and my brother is asking for this herringbone tie case. A leather dopkit is always appreciated.

6. Copper mugs - for the guy (or host/hostess) who has everything, copper mugs are an awesome gift.

7. Sunglasses - Warby Parker surprisingly has some awesome pairs and at a great price.

8. Drone - Drones are very cool and a grown up toy for the kid in him.

9. A custom skincare pack - Go to Sephora and put together a set of face wash, serum, eye cream, exfoliator, maybe even a men's clarisonic?? Perhaps put in his new leather dopkit? My brothers, boyfriend and cousins all expressed interest in this gift.

10. A round of golf at (insert great public course here) - If you're on the West Coast, Pebble Beach comes to mind...

11. Anything johnnie-O, of course! I recommend the Original 4-Button polo for the JO newbie but the pants, jackets, 1/4 zips and swim are also fab.
