Gift Guide: For the Guys

Hi everyone! I have been getting a lot of requests for my gift guides so here is the first one. I know it's a bit late but hope it helps : ) What are you gifting the guys in your life?

Of course, I'm biased but I pretty much think anything from Johnnie-O is a home run for boys and men. I even gifted the girls in my life this nifty tote bag that I designed.

johnnie-O tie - they have them for boys too!

johnnie-O Sully 1/4 Zip Pullover - they also come with his favorite MLB team logo or select school emblems. With a bunch of colors and super soft material, you really can't go wrong with this one.

johnnie-O polo - there are lots to choose from but this is one of my new favorites. It has a cotton-blend material that holds its shape and is very comfortable for on and off the golf course.

Away bags are practical and stylish. Get him his monogram so he doesn't misplace it in baggage claim.

Speaking of travel bags, I love this one from Mark and Graham, but looks like everyone else does too since it's backordered until March!

I don't know if I'll ever understand this one, but gift it and prepare for some big smiles. One of these axes from Best Made are sure to be a unique favorite under the tree.

Let's talk about shoes: AllBirds and Tods top my gifting list but I am also loving the Common Project ones below. The site where I found the Tods and Common Projects is Mr. Porter and they have one of the better gift guides for men that I've seen.

All Birds - I like this gray or the Moss color

Tods - This gray color is super versatile

Accessories are good stocking stuffers and for under the tree. Everything from wallets, to sunglasses, to a watch, are good bets.

Smathers and Branson Belt - they also have custom ones that are really cool.

Shinola makes a great wallet. Mark and Graham also has some great ones.

I love the look of this classic Shinola watch

A scarf is a gift he won't buy himself but will love when he realizes how much warmer it makes his outfit. This one from Burberry is a forever scarf.

Warby Parker makes great sunglasses for men and women that don't break the bank. I like this pair

Guys always need socks. Give them this fun three pack from Paul Smith.

Electronics can be tricky because lots of guys are particular but the below are some highly requested items.

I actually bought these headphones for myself as well : )

My brother requested this golf gadget

And now some miscellaneous ones:

Truman's makes great men's grooming products and I love the packaging. If the guy you're gifting is in the NYC area, get him a Truman's experience haircut, shave, facial or mani/pedi. He'll feel pampered but it's in a manly setting.

If he needs a new winter/ski jacket, try Stio.

Another thing he won't gift himself but will love? One of these sustainably made, unbelievably thick, plush and delicious cashmere blanket from Naadam. This is another one I bought for myself : )

Okay, that's all I've got for now. For more gift guides or just all around great sites for guys, try Huckberry or Sid Mashburn. Lulu Lemon is also generally a crowd pleaser.

I'm working on my gift guide for the gals and will hopefully have it up before the end of the weekend. For some reason I find it much easier shopping for guys - do you all too?

Favorite Wallpapered Spaces

My sister, Tory, is working at the most fabulous store part time here in Santa Monica called Rooms and Gardens and it's totally reinvigorated our love of wallpaper and fabric. Whether in a little powder room jewel box, bedroom or mixing and matching prints for the ultimate pattern play, I love a good wallpaper. I particularly like the unexpected. Painting a butler's pantry a bright lacquer and then wallpapering the ceiling or painting the trim a color that compliments the paper instead of traditional white, are examples of my favorite ways to spruce it up. I spent an unusually long time last night before bed on Pinterest looking at wallpapers from Galbraith and Paul, Schumacher, Katie Ridder, Quadrille, Brunschwig and Fils, Farrow and Ball, etc. etc. It's a deep, dark hole... browsers beware!

Loving Right Now

Phlur: Jumping on the "do you know where your products are made" bandwagon, Phlur uses beautiful packaging that don't damage the environment. I did the try it at home kit and loved all three fragrances, which is rare for me, since I'm pretty picky. I ultimately decided to go with Olmstead + Vaux, which is touted as a bright, crisp and ultimately clean fragrance with notes of shies leaf, white ginger and orange. I also loved Hanami and Greylocke. These fragrances are pretty unisex and don't make me sick from smelling them too much (yes, that happens sometimes...).

Lake Pajamas: Confession - I am obsessed with pajamas. I'm very particular though. I have to be wearing a t-shirt (not tank) with either pants or shorts and they have to be really really really soft. Did I mention soft? I'd also like to look semi cute. These Lake Pajamas are swoon-worthy and soft.

Nine Fair Custom Backgammon Boards: I've gotten this fabulous wedding backgammon board for two of my best friends and I have been SO ecstatic with both. While buying off the registry is a safe bet, when it's a close friend and you know they'd appreciate something a little different to commemorate their wedding, this should be a go-to. They're a little pricey but they are so gorgeous.

Closed: This European brand has sprung onto my radar and while expensive, I cannot get enough of it. My sister got the most amazinggg mint green, reversible, shearling coat last year from Closed and I don't think I have ever been more jealous of one of her pieces. From amazing coats and knits to fabulous bottoms, I wish I could spend my whole paycheck on this brand.

Ritual vitamins: Ritual vitamins have everything you need in a vitamin and nothing you don't and they source from the finest ingredients. Especially made for women, the company is super open about exactly what is in the vitamins and they don't use any fillers or synthetic materials. The only other thing I take in the morning is a probiotic so the ritual vitamins definitely save me some time. With it's subscription-based model, you'll never be out of vitamins. My mom even swears they give her a little energy boost.

White + Warren travel scarf: My first cashmere sweater was from White +Warren and I've been pretty loyal ever since. Last year, my mom got me a hot pink White + Warren travel scarf and, to call it a scarf is a little unfair since it can literally be used as a travel blanket. These are SO soft and luxe. I've got my eye on a more neutral light blue color.
