Best Fall Eyeshadows

I love makeup. Yes, I didn't start using foundation and powder until last year but I have been playing around with eye shadow palettes and perfecting my smokey eye since 7th grade. Below are some of my favorite colors and palettes. I'm really into shimmery golds and rose golds right now as well as plum. I have brown eyes so I like to use navy, purples, browns and golds to bring out my eyes. Below are some of my favorites!

P.S. Sign up for Sephora's beauty insider's program. I have found numerous of my favorite eye shadows through points I've collected... I think I have about 2000 saved up...

Travel in Style: Airport Essentials

Thursday night I'm flying to Charlotte, North Carolina to visit my boyfriend. Well, I'm hoping to fly Thursday night. With the power outages and widespread destruction due to Hurricane Sandy, who knows if I'll get out but my fingers (and toes) are crossed! I'm projecting positive vibes and have been inspired to do a travel post. Below are some essentials for a weekend getaway.

1. Cashmere travel blanket // 2. Raw unsalted almonds // 3. Open wrap cardigan // 4. Diane Von Furstenburg iPad case with iPad 3 // 5. Smart Water // 6. Bose headphones // 7. Blair Ritchey travel cases // 8. iPhone 5 // 9. Fresh travel kit

Below are some luggage, cosmetic cases, totes and shoes that will make your trip more comfortable and fashionable.

Finally, I never fly without my Saint Christopher necklace and a cocktail. I hope everyone is safe and recovering from the storm-- pray that I can get out and everyone that needs help gets it!

For Like Ever

I recently purchased a "for like ever" poster that I have been lusting after for years. Ever since I saw the poster on the cover of Domino magazine, I knew I had to have it in my future apartment (this was 2006- really thinking ahead...) The print was designed by Tracy Jenkins of Super Rural and has been sold out and reissued many times. Jenkins was pursing an MFA in graphic design from Yale when she came up with the poster. She couldn't get the valley girl phrase out of her head and included the poster in her thesis. Brian Murphy of Loeffler Randall bought a poster and he and his wife's home was featured in Elle Accessories where the poster was shown. Next, a poster was featured on the cover of Domino and from there it took off. It is now sold in a couple of different colors including the classic light pink with red font.

Below are some photos of different ways to hang your poster. You can buy the print here.

Seeing Spots

Animal prints don't have to be flashy. If they are subtle additions to an outfit they can look amazing. I love to mix in a cheetah clutch or leopard scarf to spice up an outfit.

Fashion Crush of the Day: Miroslava Duma

My fashion crush of the day is my Russian sister, Miroslava Duma. Just kidding, she's not my sister (obviously...wish I could share her clothes, though!). The petite, 25 year old, fashion force was an editor at Harper's Bazaar Russia and now works as a freelance writer and blogger. Below are some of my absolute favorite looks. She really does have impeccable taste.
