Site I Love: Everlane

Everlane has elevated basics, great quality and a great site. I often browse when I'm looking to upgrade my tee and tank game. They also have great basics for men and kids. Below are a few favorites.

Dreamy Bathrooms

Every girls dreams of a claw foot tub and huge rain head shower with lots of counter space and storage and beautiful white marble and a vanity to do makeup at in their bathrooms right?? Below are some absolutely dreamy bathrooms.

Love the under-sink towel storage. Perfect for a guest bathroom.

How zen does this tub look?? I could soak here all day.

Love the pulls and black contrast flooring

Fresh flowers and beautifully packaged products=happy bathroom

I could definitely go for a moody black bathroom with brass fixtures. How about that mirror??

The lighting, the fixtures, the ambiance.

This pup's got the right idea.

I love the custom cabinets underneath

Don't mind me, I'll just be soaking here for hours.

Just gorge.

Weekend Wants

I'm heading to Florida in a week and I've got resort on my mind. I want to scoop up ALL of the goodies below but I have to be good... The Zimmerman and Ulla Johnson beauties must be mineeeee. I've also been eyeing the white Isabel Marant top for months and it's on sale so I may have to pull the trigger. What are your must haves for spring?

Spring Skin Care

I'm on a major health kick. This includes (but not limited to): no drinking, paleo, lots of fruits and veg, working out with a trainer 3x week, sweat lounge, yoga, etc. We'll see how long this one lasts... but I am taking advantage while I can. Whenever I get on a good health kick, I start to get in a good skin routine. Yesterday, I got a free mini facial at Blue Mercury and my skin was glowing! Below are a few things they used that I loved and will be purchasing ASAP. Similar to my purse purchasing issues, I also hoard makeup and skin care products but I love trying new things to see what works! Have any favorites that I need to try? Let me know in the comments!

Blue Mercury's in-house skin care line, M61, is great. It's natural and not as expensive as skin ceuticals and others but has high concentrations of natural ingredients. My favorites from my mini facial were the Power Glow Peel Glycolic Pads, Hydra-Boost Eye Serum and the Powerblast Glycolic Foaming Facial Mask. My skin hasn't looked this good in months.

I also love Blue Mercury's in-house makeup line, Lune + Aster. Try the amazing CC cream and apply using the By Terry precise foundation brush. Top it off with the bronzer/highlighting combo.

For an awesome moisturizer, they gave me a sample of a ReVive deep moisturizer that I just bought a big jar of. I put it on after washing my face last night and woke up with baby soft skin.

I've spoken on here about the fact that I have really bad KP (Keratosis Pilarsis), which are the little red bumps on arms, legs, etc. and I am constantly searching for a solution. Someone recommended I try a body lotion with a high dose of glycolic acid. I recently ordered BeautyRx by Dr. Schultz Daily Exfoliating Body Therapy Lotion, which has 10% glycolic acid and I'm excited to see if it helps at all.

Cleansing waters and essences are all the rage right now. This one by Caudalie has good reviews and I got this Darphin Paris one that according to the site is a "unique all-in-one, no-rinse cleanser for face, eyes and lips, gently removes make-up and impurities with an ultra-gentle formula. Skin is left fresh, soft and supple."

As for treatments, Skin Laundry on Montana Avenue (multiple other locations across the country) has ten minute laser facials that make such a difference. $150 for a pack of 3 and you walk out of there feeling dewy and fresh. According to their site, short term results include vaporizing dirt and removing bacteria, improving dullness and unevenness and tightening and brightening of skin. Long term results include reduction of sun damage, reduction of redness and fine line, reduction of acne and acne scarring and stimulation of collagen amongst other benefits. Try their Nourishing Cleansing Oil too especially if you have dry skin or combination skin. Washes away dirt and makeup but is hydrating.

For makeup, just picked up this coppery colored Nars shadow pencil in Skorplos and this too faced eye shadow palette has five stars on Sephora and is calling my name...

Has anyone tried out R+Co's hair products or Oribe's Gold Lust hair oil? I may test those out next!

Spring Bag Roundup

As many of you know, I am a SUCKER for a new bag. #Bagsonbagsonbags. Every season I get a strong urge to get a new bag. It's terrible. Below are the ones that are tempting me this season.

Looking Back and Looking Ahead

What an amazing year! Business at johnnie-O is booming and I graduated with an advanced degree from FIDM in Apparel Industry Management this December. It was wild navigating school and work but I am so glad I did the program and happy for some more free “me" time this year. Life in LA has been pretty great and looking forward to an even better year this year. There are a  couple of things I want to focus on, though Not very different than my resolutions from last year but I find it so helpful to write and memorialize my goals.

Blog More - I am back!! and I have some amazing and fun things coming up to share with you all. Thanks for staying patient while I finished school and could free up some time for MM. More collaborations and original content. Fun stuff.

That's a great suggestion, Ted. I will definitely write a post on that...

Cooking and Meal Prep- Last year I was really really bad and did not cook at home a lot. This year I plan to do more meal prep on Sundays and cook more meals during the week. I love searching pinterest for new soup and smoothie and dressing and paleo recipes and having healthy options in the fridge definitely helps me stay on track. I like to start off the year doing a meal delivery program. I love Paleo Delivers and Fitness Kitchen LA. 1-2 weeks of healthy meals can get me on track for the rest of the month (and hopefully year!). I like to do paleo for January to shed some of the extra holiday pounds.

Vince meal prepped, I watched. Not exactly healthy...

Fitness - This is a biggie. Last year I was so busy with work and school but I have no excuses this year. For the first 2 months of the year, I am training with the study LA, where they will give me an initial consult and personalized training plan. I’ll go in 3x a week and it's my intention to carry this 3-4x a week workout schedule throughout the year. LA is filled with great workout classes and with such great weather, I can bike, hike and run outside just about any time of year. This is my biggest resolution and I want to stay on track here. Wish me luck...

Playing with the pups while browsing on the web does NOT count.

Drink Less - January is officially a dry month. After lots of overindulging over the holidays (and pretty much all of 2015), it’s time to reset. While I’m abstaining from drinking all of January I’m hoping the positive health effects carry over throughout the year. When I’m not drinking, I consume less calories from alcohol and from hungover food and I burn more calories because I get out on the weekends more. I also just get a lot more done and have a clear head and better skin.

Harder than it sounds....

Save More - While it’s hard to say no to the new handbag, and I know I won’t always, it’s important to save and invest for the future.

Chose the handbag last year. A few times...

Pretty generic and big goals but hoping putting it out there for you all will help me stay on track! Here's to a great 2016!

January Resort Favorites

With a warm weather vacation on the horizon, I've been scoping out some cute resort/spring picks. Might be cold out but I'm happy to let these hang in my closet for a little bit.
