Spring Wishlist

Already feels like spring in California and that means lighter colors, spring cleaning and more shopping?? Below are a few things I'm dying to get for spring. Those Valentino sandals are amazing and I'm really hoping to get the YSL chain bag in blush - such a nice color to transition from spring to summer. How beautiful is that diptyque candle?? And I've always wanted a signet ring. The J.Crew one below is dainty and perfect. Tory and I just got that "Howdy" welcome mat, so cross that one off the list but everything else is fair game... Also, don't forget to check out my boutique for more of my favorites! (Link here)

Loving Right Now: BB Dakota

As many of you know, I have a shopping problem. There, I said it! Whether high end or bargain, I love to shop. When I find a brand that has good quality, reasonable prices and super cute to boot? I stick with it. I discovered BB Dakota a few years ago and I very rarely go wrong with them. I got the cutest "California/Aztec chic" sweater right before I moved to LA and it is a staple in my wardrobe. Their stuff is pretty basic but fun. Shopbop is showcasing a bunch of tBB Dakota's spring pieces that I may have to add to my collection. What are your favorite brands with a good price tag? I also love Asos and Topshop but lesser known brands are always fun. A few of my favorites below.

Salad Happy

On Sunday I decided to turn over a new leaf after an unbelievably indulgent holiday (think cocktails and champagne and appetizers every night mixed in with a few nights of pizza and caviar). Oh yeah, we did it up at the Berner household. My favorite diet to date to feel tighter and lighter in just a few days is paleo. It's a lot of eggs and protein and veggies. I  like to focus on the things I can eat rather than the things I can't (dairy, gluten, grains, beans, soy, added sugar, corn, alcohol...). Yeah, it's a lot but I swear it works and my skin is better, my bloat goes away and I sleep like a baby. Well, I always sleep like a baby but the other stuff is good! I'm going to the Turks and Caicos in 2 weeks with Riley (I know, tough life) so I want to look extra trim. To jump start my health kick, I went with a meal delivery program called paleo delivers. It's expensive but I'm on the second day and so far so good. Next week I'll continue my diet but I needed to ease into the cooking after a long vacay with my mom prepping every meal (thanks mom!).

For those of you wanting a complete lifestyle change, check out the Whole 30 program. It's a little stricter than paleo as it doesn't allow you to make things that are "subs" for things like paleo pancakes and treats. There are some absolutely amazing transformation stories on their site.

Anyways, no matter what diet you're on, I bet you salad is allowed (unless you're doing phase 1 of dukan or atkins). I am extremely uncreative when it comes to prepping my greens so I turn to pinterest for help. Below are a few that look amazinggg that I am definitely going to try. I also found a line of salad dressings, sauces and marinades called Tessamae that is approved for Whole 30, which basically means it's good stuff and very natural and healthy. And they taste delicious! (link) I got the southwest ranch to make a take on chicken salad. I'd love to hear about your new year's resolutions, diet tips and favorite salads!

Cute Suits

Riley and I are heading to Turks and Caicos in a few weeks so I want to stock up on some new suits. I recently got a few of the below for Christmas but I have my eye on that white scalloped one.

New Year, New Products

Is there anything better than new products? Every year I always plan some sort of big health overall (this year I'm doing whole 30 - no drinking, gluten, dairy, processed foods, etc.) and I love getting new makeup and products.

This year, I'm going with this great YSL lipstick that apparently sold out all over Asia after it appeared on a Korean soap opera (no. 52 in rosy coral). You can never have too many mascaras and I hear this Lancome one is great. I'm going for a fun blue color with this new nail color and I've been meaning to try this perfect legs skin lotion. Supermodels rave about the Charlotte Tilbury "Gisele" lotion so it must be good. The Benefit "High Brow" stick apparently opens your eyes  and makes your brows look clean. The dry brush is supposed to increase circulation and Miranda Kerr swears by it. Any products you guys are looking forward to trying? Would love to hear about them!
