In my last post, I wrote about all of the trends I'm looking to try this Spring. I touched on shoes, light-colored booties in particular, but my shoe inspiration this spring goes far beyond that. I have always been more of a "bag girl." While I appreciate a beautiful shoe, I don't love wearing heels. I know, the horror! That being said, I've definitely found ways around that predicament with mules, wedges. platforms, booties and flats, while still mixing in the occasional high-heel stiletto. Below are some shoes I have my eye on this spring. It's all about interesting sandals, colorful mules, textured wedges and fresh colors in old classics (still have my eye on some light-colored booties!).

Great for Gals: Loeffler Randall
My lovely cousin, Louisa, works for Loeffler Randall, and I am in LOVE with their shoes. I mean, the resort collection??? Swoon. Check out the pink mules with the flowers below that I am asking for from Santa and the block-heeled red scalloped lovelies my sister, Tory, is asking for.

CB Weekly Favorites
A couple of things I have my eye on this week - that Madewell jean vest is wonderful, the Chloe chunky heels with scallops and rivets are A+ and Tory and I are thinking of getting that great buffalo print to put above credenza. The Asos romper, I just got for Coachella and I'm loving Warby Parker's sunglasses this season. Off to Coachella this weekend - follow @metropolitan_musings on instagram to get updates!

Every Pair of Spring Shoes You Need
One day I will have a closet filled with these in ever color. Until then, I will daydream over the Chloe, Isabel Marant and Rag and Bone booties below for Coachella, the gorgeous sandals and flats and maybe even pick up a pair of those pretty wedges.

Best Fall Shoes
My sister, Tory, can not stop raving about her Vince pony hair slip-on shoes that she's been wearing almost every day. She keeps talking about how they are the most comfortable shoes she owns so naturally I had to get a pair. Done. They are the easiest way to transition from flip-flops to boots without compromising style. Similarly, my friend, Cristine, has the Steve Madden versions that are just as cute and a fraction of the price. Trust me, you need them.

Spring/Summer's Best Sandals
Finally time for some cute sandals and shorts. Okay, I lied - it's supposed to be 48 and rainy this week... But a girl should always be prepared for sunshine... I'm actually heading to Canada, where it's supposed to be 75 and sunny all week - go figure!

Spring Trend: Mules
Mules are the hot new footwear trend for spring. And no, not moscow mules, although that may be one of my favorite cocktails, I'm talking about the adorable slip on heel that can be dressed up or down. I actually just got this adorable/colorful pair from Victoria's Secret (yes, they have shoes). I'm going to wear them with jeans and spring dresses. Will you be wearing mules this spring?

Birthday Wishlist
I know it's a little premature (my birthday isn't until a week from Thursday) but I always get excited for my birthday so I thought I'd post my ultimate wishlist. I'd be lucky to get any of these.. maybe I should start buying lottos tickets again??
Some of the items on here are classics like nude louboutins and an hermes belt but some are a bit more modern like the Maison Gray print, Brooke Gregson "virgo" necklace (you can pick your sign) and Helmut Lang leather jacket. Drybar gift certificates or "coasters" are an awesome gift for any girl in your life and at $40 bucks a pop I think I'll take those over flowers any day! The Nikon portrait lens is so that I can take better pics for the blog and who isn't lusting after the valentino studded heels?? What items are on your wishlists recently?

Mid-Summer Wishlist
It's all about transitional pieces this late in the summer as pre-fall is out and we're starting to see sneak peaks of fall collections which are certainly getting me excited for the leaves to turn! Some items on my wishlist:
*Images from Shopbop.com, Saks.com and Julievos.com
1. A drapey blouse - the kind of shirt you don't think to buy but then have and wear forever. This AIR by Alice + Olivia blouse comes in black and tan. I prefer black
2. A transitional long dress - to dress up or down. I love this Rory Beca navy beauty.
3. A relaxed leather and jersey jacket - I've been searching for
the perfect black leather jacket that doesn't look too "biker chick" and
this one just might be the one for me. If only it wasn't $800... Helmut Lang just does it for me.
4. Gold coin pendant necklace- my grandmother, Mimi, had an old coin of hers put
on a gold chain and it looks good with everythingggg. This one by Julie Vos won't cost you an arm and leg and is super cute. I'm guilty of purchasing it...
5. A bright printed dress in a girly silhouette. This Nicholas one fits the bill and how cute is it with those neon strappy heels??
6. A transitional scarf - because you can never have too many and this print and color are so cute.
8. Perfect bag - I thought my cravings for this Chloe Marcie bag would go away after I got the Philip Lim Pashli satchel but they haven't. They're back and stronger than ever for fall!!

2013 Ultimate Wishlist
When the Poweball hit $500 million, I couldn't help but think of all of the things I would do with the winning money. I obviously thought of trips and real estate but then I got to thinking about the absurd shopping spree I'd go on. When I didn't end up winning the lottery (shocking, I know), there were still a few things in my mind that I decided I wanted. Below is my ultimate 2013 wishlist. Obviously, I'd throw in a few more luxe items if I know the full half billion but these are a few things that are actually attainable for a normal person who doesn't win the lottery. Here's to hoping I don't break the bank!

Look of the Day
I saw this photo on Pinterest and wanted to copy every part of it (right down to the girl's haircut)! I love that velvet blazers are coming back in style and this look is effortless yet very structured and put together.

Green with Envy
I've been seeing a lot of green this season and one of my favorites ways to rock the trend is with a green skirt. Whether wearing it to work, on the weekend or out, you can't go wrong.
