Birthday Wishlist

I know it's a little premature (my birthday isn't until a week from Thursday) but I always get excited for my birthday so I thought I'd post my ultimate wishlist. I'd be lucky to get any of these.. maybe I should start buying lottos tickets again??

Some of the items on here are classics like nude louboutins and an hermes belt but some are a bit more modern like the Maison Gray print, Brooke Gregson "virgo" necklace (you can pick your sign) and Helmut Lang leather jacket. Drybar gift certificates or "coasters" are an awesome gift for any girl in your life and at $40 bucks a pop I think I'll take those over flowers any day! The Nikon portrait lens is so that I can take better pics for the blog and who isn't lusting after the valentino studded heels?? What items are on your wishlists recently?

 

Neutrals for Fall

I went on shopbop this morning when I got to work and was so inspired by Vince's fall line. Everything is clean and impeccably cut and, as is Vince's way, neutral.  This fall I want to focus on getting well-made, classic pieces that I will want in my wardrobe forever rather than cheapish pieces I hate in 6 months. I'm not quiteeeee ready for summer to be over and to give up my white pants but I will be ready for black, navy, gray and tan come mid-September.My favorite fall looks have been from Vince, Rag and Bone, Helmut Lang, Theory, Rebecca Taylor, and, surprisingly, it looks like Susana Monaco is making a comeback.

Mid-Summer Wishlist

It's all about transitional pieces this late in the summer as pre-fall is out and we're starting to see sneak peaks of fall collections which are certainly getting me excited for the leaves to turn! Some items on my wishlist:

1. A drapey blouse -  the kind of shirt you don't think to buy but then have and wear forever. This AIR by Alice + Olivia blouse comes in black and tan. I prefer black

2. A transitional long dress - to dress up or down. I love this Rory Beca navy beauty.

3. A relaxed leather and jersey jacket - I've been searching for the perfect black leather jacket that doesn't look too "biker chick" and this one just might be the one for me. If only it wasn't $800... Helmut Lang just does it for me.

4. Gold coin pendant necklace- my grandmother, Mimi,  had an old coin of hers put on a gold chain and it looks good with everythingggg.This one by Julie Vos won't cost you an arm and leg and is super cute. I'm guilty of purchasing it...

5. A bright printed dress in a girly silhouette. This Nicholas one fits the bill and how cute is it with those neon strappy heels??

 

6. A transitional scarf - because you can never have too many and this print and color are so cute.

7. Strappy tribal sandals - These Rachel Roy ones are so fun

8. Perfect bag - I thought my cravings for this Chloe Marcie bag would go away after I got the Philip Lim Pashli satchel but they haven't. They're back and stronger than ever for fall!!

Fall Closet

Burgundy/Oxblood/Maroon is the hot color for fall. I fell in love with the Giuseppe Zanotti peep toes above. I settled on this pair of Ivanka Trump pointy toes pumps. They aren't the most comfortable shoes (they're a little high for my liking) but they look much more expensive than they are.

I've been obsessed with this Mulberry bag for the last three years and I finally found one that is a similar color and size. The Madewell bag is surprisingly well made and functional.

These Helmut Lang leather pants are the ultimate. They seriously look amazing on anyone and can go with anything. My roommate practically lives in hers. They're pretty expensive, though so I settled for the JBrand wax coated jeans above. It still hasn't satisfied my craving for the Helmuts though...

Tassel loafers are popping up everywhere and the Target ones (above right) look surprisingly expensive and cute. For $20 I couldn't say no.
