For a Cozy Fall Weekend
The weather has finally turned (even here in LA!) and I am so excited to start pulling out my cozy sweaters and boots. While I do hear rumors that Santa Ana winds may be heading our way for more warm weather, I'll just enjoy it while it lasts. The last few months have been super hectic. Over at johnnie-O, we launched our new site last week, which was taking up the majority of my time. I'm excited to be back and posting and looking forward to a more regular cadence of posts on MM. Tory and I are heading to the Lumineers concert this Wednesday at Holiday Bowl and I'm SO excited! Beyond that, I have a week in Boston planned, where I can really get my fix of Fall weather and we still have to plan our annual grilled cheese and beer tasting party. Don't you just love Fall?? Tory and I were absolutely swooning over these mini copper cocottes at Williams Sonoma (yes I looked up cocottes). They'd be so fun to use for the butternut squash soup she keeps saying she's going to make but never does : )

Pre-Fall Favorites
How can I possibly think of Fall and coats and boats when it's about a million degrees out you ask?? Well, the Fall fashion, of course! For Fall, I'm coveting a great throw on, open coat like the shearling one or the gorgeous Giada Forte knit jacket below. I also love light neutrals in camel, cream and light gray along with best in class plaid. What are you looking to add to your Fall wardrobe?

Best Boots
I love my Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots. I invested in them 2 years ago and they are my go to over jeans or with a dress all Fall and Winter (and into spring). While a bit pricey, I know if I take care of them they will last forever. With the popularity of the 50/50's, many brands have come out with their own versions and brands like Sam Edelman and Dolce Vita come pretty close with a much lower price tag. Below are some of my favorite classic boots this season at both high and low(er) price points.

Midweek Must-Haves
I'm heading to New York next week and below are the things I wish I were packing! I can't wait to see my friends and enjoy some crisp Fall days. I love LA but it's fun to get a little seasonal every once in a while.

Midweek Must-Haves
If you know me, you know I love all things nerdy, especially when it comes to fashion. What's that you say? Cork clogs with socks and jeans isn't a good look? Socks over my ankles isn't "hip"? I wear my pajama pants Erkle style?? Turtlenecks aren't cool??? Trendy sneakers needn't be worn at the office?? Haters be silenced, clogs are back. Turtlenecks are back. Ironic eyeglasses have been back and are still in. 70's style and high-waisted pants are in. Overalls have been trending for two full seasons. It's a dream come true. Below are some of my mid-week must-haves. Side note, those splendid pajama pants are a dream. I bought a pair for Christmas and they are my main squeeze. Size up for optimal comfort. I also just got those clogs... and the striped dress... whoops.

Eat, Drink...
Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. I went to Boston to watch Tory in the Fall play and then rushed back to watch Riley play at Nassau Coliseum (they won so it was a success!). Tory and I had an amazing brunch at Gaslight (an adorable French Brassiere) on Saturday morning. I used this as one of my four "cheat meal," which was wise considering I had some of the most delicious, fresh baguette EVER (or maybe it just tasted like that because I haven't had bread in over a month??). Either way it was great. Speaking of cheat meals, I successfully finished my 30 day paleo challenge and have decided to keep going with it. It hasn't felt like a diet at all but more like a lifestyle change (in a good way). I've decided to give myself 4 cheat meals a week and eat paleo the rest of the time. For anyone considering, I highly recommend trying the challenge. It's tough for the first week but it is a breeze after that.
The weather was perfect (we have been so spoiled this Fall!) but it was a little chillier this morning. I have a feeling we'll be getting more crisp "real" fall weather and less of this amazing Indian Summer weather. No complaints though, I have a new fall jacket that has been waiting patiently in my closet to be debuted! Have a wonderful week everyone!

Bags and Shoes
I can never have enough bags and shoes. Every fall I feel like I neeeeeed a new bag. It's bad. How amazing is the pony hair Proenza Schouler clutch and the Jenni Kayne animal print mules?!I'm also dying for a trendy backpack and the turquoise Elizabeth and James one below may do the trick.... Don't even get me started on the Rag and Bone booties I just got my mom for her birthday. They are perfect.

October Mood Board
Can you believe it's October already? September always seems to fly by and especially with the weather as great as it's been. As much as I love Summer, I am never sad to say goodbye to humidity and hello to gorgeous, crisp fall days!

Flared Jeans
I love the look of a great pair of dark flared jeans. With a good heel, they totally elongate your legs and are super flattering. I have a pair from MIH that are actually a bit more boot cut than flare but I'm sort of a shorty so it's hard to find the perfect length for me. Paige and 7 For All Mankind have some good petite pairs but I usually make sure to get a dark wash with minimal fading and then head to my tailor for the perfect length. I like to pair them with a chunky sweater, long gold-chained necklace and my Rag and Bone booties.

Fall Fashion Wishlist 2013
There is something about fall that makes me want to shop every second of the day. It could be the rich tones and comfy sweaters and extras or it could just be that old back to school vibe that gets me in the mood. Either way, my shopbop hearts are overflowing with cute pieces that I'm dying to add to my wardrobe. Take for instance the insaneeee DVF black coat below with the detachable collar or the emerald (color of the season) Rebecca Taylor dress that is equally exciting for work or play. I actually bought the hat below and it is fantasticcc - so happy with my purchase. Bucket bags and backpacks are all the rage this fall and the one below is adorable. I mightttt need it and I also might need a pair of velvet flared pants like the J Brands below. What items are on your fall fashion wishlist? Days like these when I cross my fingers that I win the powerball....

Neutrals for Fall
I went on shopbop this morning when I got to work and was so inspired by Vince's fall line. Everything is clean and impeccably cut and, as is Vince's way, neutral. This fall I want to focus on getting well-made, classic pieces that I will want in my wardrobe forever rather than cheapish pieces I hate in 6 months. I'm not quiteeeee ready for summer to be over and to give up my white pants but I will be ready for black, navy, gray and tan come mid-September.My favorite fall looks have been from Vince, Rag and Bone, Helmut Lang, Theory, Rebecca Taylor, and, surprisingly, it looks like Susana Monaco is making a comeback.
