Flared Jeans

I love the look of a great pair of dark flared jeans. With a good heel, they totally elongate your legs and are super flattering. I have a pair from MIH that are actually a bit more boot cut than flare but I'm sort of a shorty so it's hard to find the perfect length for me. Paige and 7 For All Mankind have some good petite pairs but I usually make sure to get a dark wash with minimal fading and then head to my tailor for the perfect length. I like to pair them with a chunky sweater, long gold-chained necklace and my Rag and Bone booties.

Happy Friday!

Hi everyone! I'm off to the lake and couldn't be more excited for what is supposed to be a gorgeous weekend. Fall is my favorite time of year in the Berkshires and, although the leaves haven't turned, I still love the cool nights and mornings (great sleeping!) My mom and I are heading up tonight and we're planning on doing a great hike and the 22 mile bike ride that I love. We also have apple picking on our agenda and Crisp Architects is holding an event in Milbrook that we are going to check out. My parents close on their house a week from today (my mom's birthday - strange coincidence!) and I can't wait to see all of the great stuff they do with the property. I'm sure the Crisp event, where lots of home vendors show off their work, will give us tons of good ideas (although we already have about a million on our private Pinterest board)! I also got a new camera lens for my Nikon that I'm dying to try out. Hopefully lots of greats photos will be coming your way next week! I'm on day 12 of Paleo and feel awesome - highly recommend it -- let's see if I can say no to an apple cider donut this weekend! Have a great weekend!

Wallpapered Bedrooms

I've always been a fan of a neutral bedroom but I've recently seen some amazing bedrooms with great wallpaper and prints. Wallpaper can add a touch of whimsy and a lot of color. Below are a few of my faves.

Amazing Liz Caan bedroom

Gorgeous Miles Redd bedroom

How great is this wallpaper in Erika Bearman's (Oscar PR Girl) South Hampton bedroom??

Crop Tops and High-Waisted Skirts

So I'm not a huge fan of crop tops. I think this probably stemmed from my little sister showing me Facebook photos of high schoolers running around in neon crop tops (or sports bras) and tiny shorts or spandex at techno concerts. While most of them have "high school bodies" (may mine RIP..), the look just isn't very cute/flattering, etc. A new trend I can get behind, though, is crop tops with high-waisted skirts. I've seen some adorable full/midi/high-waisted skirts with crop tops that show just a hint of skin. I recently purchased a crop top from Asos but am yet to wear it because I need to find the perfect skirt. Any ideas??

How chic does Zoe Saldana look in this all green ensemble?! Love!

Love Selena Gomez in this

Fall Skincare, Hair and Makeup Essentials

My haircare and skincare needs are drastically different depending on the season and, as I am a confessed "product junkie," I am a-okay with this. Now that I have color-treated hair ( I know! bizarre for me!) and have a keratin treatment (pictures to follow, I promise!), I have to make sure to use sulfate free shampoo and conditioner to make sure it doesn't strip out the color or keratin. In terms of skin care, I like to try new things to see how my skin reacts. Below are some hair, skin and makeup products I am loving this fall.

Skin Care
My skin is combination with a strong tendency to be dry so I am constantly searching for the perfect daily moisturizer and serum. These two products from Lancome are exceptional. While a bit on the pricey side, the serum goes on and immediately makes my skin feel softer and fresher and when I follow with the lotion I get a perfect light-weight moisture.

I adore Skin Ceuticals products and think they're worth every penny. There is a lot of science behind them, after all, and it is the brand of choice for dermatologists. I recently ordered the toner, cleanser and exfoliator and am excited to try them out. I'll keep you posted on those!

I also bought this Murad Blackhead and pore clearing duo. I don't know about all you NYC'ers but I have had the most clogged pores, especially on my nose, since moving here. I will try anything that works if you guys have any suggestions!

1. Lancôme ÉNERGIE DE VIE Dullness Relief & Energy Recharge Daily Cream // 2. Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector // 3. Skin Ceuticals Equalizing Toner // 4. Skin Ceuticals Purifying Cleanser // 5. Murad Blackhead and Pore Clearing Duo // 6. Skin Ceuticals Micro-Exfoliating Scrub

Makeup
While there is technically no "need" per se to switch up my makeup seasonally, I just can't help myself (especially with great new eye shadows in rich fall hues!) I've recently started filling in my brows a bit and it makes them look a bit more tailored and full for when I go out.  Don't you love the rich hues of the bare minerals eye shadow palette below??

So I haven't tried this Becca brush yet but heard it is AMAZING and cuts down your makeup application time by a lot. I love a good cream eye shadow pencil and Sephora is doing a deal on these Makeup is Forever ones. I couldn't say no... The Benefit mascara makes my lashes hugeee so if you're in the market for a new mascara definitely try this one out.

On my lips I've been wearing this Laura Mercier weightless lip color, which I love, and different colors of the Nars pencil. My favorites are "Never Say Never" and "Roman Holiday." They're not traditional "Fall Colors" but I love them. The Smashbox under eye brightener did wonders when I tried it on in Sephora so I decided to add it to my ever-growing makeup collection. Do you guys switch up your makeup for Fall? Any good Fall eyeshadow palettes?

Quote of the Day

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great week and are looking forward to the weekend. I saw the below quote on Pinterest and did some collaging and had to share. So sweet!

Plaid is Rad

I've been a huge fan of plaid my whole life, which is unusual considering I had to wear a plaid kilt for my school uniform... Maybe it's because it makes me think of fall and makes me a little nostalgic for that "Back to School" feeling. Whatever the case, plaid is the perfect pattern for fall and so versatile. I love that you can keep it really preppy or make it a little edgier and, dare I say, punk. I am helpless against a good plaid flannel shirt and am starting to think I need a pair of plaid pants a la Elin Kling below. Also, how about Julie Sarinana from Sincerely Juls wearing cute plaid pants with an army coat?! Two of my favorite fall trends! How are you all going to wear plaid this season??I think I'll get some green and navy plaid cropped pants and pair with some sort of leather. I'm also dying for these Joie shoes. So so cute!

Tuesday Treats - Day 2 of 30 Day Paleo Challenge

Day 1 of my Paleo challenge in the bag and I feel great. I've done gluten free/low carb diets before but the extra discipline of no processed food, no dairy, no corn and no legumes will definitely be a challenge. Some things I'm excited for:

This Book

Is phenomenal - like, best gluten/dairy free cookbook I've ever read. Danielle Walker has really hit the nail on the head with this one. All of her recipes look delicious and not too too hard to make. I bought it on my iPad and it was worth every penny. She also has a fantastic blog also named Against All Grain.

Some recipes I'm dying to try

Other things I'm excited about (going with the paleo theme...)

Steve's Paleo Goods Sauce Sampler - I'm a hugeee condiments girl so one of the hardest parts about Paleo is giving up my ketchup! These are Paleo, look delicious and have awesome reviews. The sampler comes with Ketchup, Steak Sauce, Wing Sauce, and Sriracha. YUM! They also have awesome salad dressings on the site.

 Other helpful sites:
Whole30 (not a paleo website per se but very similar concepts)
and, of course, Pinterest! There are awesome recipes on there.

These 30 days are going to be a breeze (fingers crossed...)! Have you guys tried Paleo or any similar diets? Any helpful hints for me??

P.S. This made me happy : )
