Overstock.com is not a website most people would think of to buy trendy furniture and home décor (and a slew of other things!) but the site has been a lifesaver for purchases Tory and I have needed in our apartment. Not to mention at a fraction of the price of other retailers... Tory was looking for a desk similar to the West Elm Parsons desk and we found an almost identical one that was $300 less. An absolute steal! I was looking for a vanity/desk for my room and found the perfect one. They have gorgeous jute rugs, x benches, bar stools and their headboards are awesome. We even got a set of my absolute favorite wishbone chairs for half off. I'm sold...Tory and I are almost all settled in and I can't wait to show you pictures of the finished apartment in the next week or so. Have a great weekend! xo

Designer Crush of the Day: Lucas Studio Inc.
Joe Lucas and Parrish Chilcoat, the duo behind Lucas Studio Inc., met while working for Los Angeles interior designer, Michael Smith. They have completed projects all around the US and I am obsessed with their classic and clean style. I first noticed Lucas Studio Inc. after reading an issue in House Beautiful that featured the most gorgeous bachelor pad I've ever seen. Check out that feature here. and a few of my favorites from their portfolio below.
Love this tiny but gorgeous sink
I'm a fan of as many barstools as possible in the kitchen.
Obsessed with the wishbone chairs and rustic charm of this room
This is a nursery. Yes, you read that correctly - a nursery.
This is one of two bars in the bachelor pad

Beautiful Built-Ins
Built-ins can completely change a room. They always seem to make it seem more finished and organized and is a great solution for a small space in need of more storage. Below are some that have caught my eye recently.

Kitchen Bar stools
After 7 years of living in their house, my parents (let's be serious, my mom) are just getting around to doing some decorating in the family room and kitchen. After re-doing the kitchen earlier this year, it's time for some new bar stools. My mom asked for some ideas so naturally I turned to Pinterest for a little inspiration. The kitchen is all white with black granite counter tops and the family room is being done in blue tones and neutrals. I prefer stools with backs but I do love the look of backless ones. Any ideas? Any favorites?

Abstract Art
I believe a room isn't finished without photos or art on the walls but some people just don't know where to start when it comes to artwork. With websites like Etsy and Minted becoming increasingly popular, it has become easier to search the web for affordable and unique prints. I personally love the look of colorful, abstract art. The best thing about it? If you're feeling inspired or artsy, run to AI Friedman for a canvas and some paint and create your own piece. P.S. Here is an awesome article on SMP Living about how to make DIY abstract prints. Enjoy!
