Anthropologie Home Favorites

Anthropologie seems to always have the best home stuff and right now is no exception. My sister sent me about 10 links yesterday and it got me browsing the whole home section. Check out a few of my favorites below. Obsessed with the lacquer nob side tables, the glass floral light fixture, the amazing bar cabinet and the hummingbird wallpaper. And how cute are the sheet sets??

Green Rooms

I was drooling over the home makeover courtesy of  Bailey from Peppermint Bliss (creator of Biscuit Bedding and Home) in Rue Magazine this month. Every room had her special touch and I particularly loved the gorgeous green living room that featured a fantastic buffalo print and built-ins. I have been obsessed with green, a color previously lacking from my wardrobe, this year which, I'm sure, has to do with Pantone picking emerald as the color of the year. While green is new to my wardrobe, I have always loved it in home decor. I feel like green rooms have been springing up more and more and it's not just for libraries anymore. I've seen amazing green kitchens (a la the wonderful Kelly Wearstler) and bedrooms. We had a green sunroom in my parents old house that was so light and airy and when we moved to our new house, my mom painted the library green (so we didn't have to change the furniture too much). While it is now a great chocolate brown lacquered color, we still refer to it as the green room. Old habits die hard I guess!

Navy Walls

I love the look of navy walls. They look great in lacquer in a front hall, dining room or library and non-lacquer in bedrooms and living rooms. Navy is one of my all time favorite colors so it makes sense that I'm drawn to the hue in home design, as well. If you're scared to commit to a whole blue room, I recommend painting the back of white bookshelves or infusing a butler's pantry with the color.

High Shine

I'm loving the look of lacquer paint these days especially in libraries. At my parent's house in Greenwich, they have a great chocolate brown lacquer paint color in their den that is so warm and inviting. I especially love the look for an office, den or library. Bright lacquer colors work well in dining rooms and bedrooms while darker hues create a cozy ambiance in libraries, offices and living rooms.

Trendy Trays

Metallic and lucite serving trays are all the rage right now in home decor. I got silver one at C Wonder and it definitely spices up my otherwise boring white dresser. Dress it up with decorative bowls, candles, perfume bottles and jewelry. You can also fill it with personal mementos. I have a tiny, pink, glass elephant that I got in Venice this summer, a mirror my brother got me in Asia, a piece of sea glass I found a few summers ago in Michigan and lots of scattered jewelry, candles, a decorative bowl and a smaller tray. Below is a picture of mine and some of my favorites on the web.
