Wednesday Workwear: Spotlight on Rebecca Taylor

Going from waking up at noon and throwing on a pair of jeans or leggings for class to waking up at 7am and having to look presentable (and formal) for work was definitely a struggle for me. I had to buy a lot of new clothes (and not the fun kind). While I'm always checking out Zara and J.Crew (and sometimes Anne Taylor Loft) for sales and cute work-appropriate outfits, I sometimes think it's better to spend on quality pieces that I'll have for the long term that I really love from Theory, Helmut Lang, etc. One designer that constantly makes me excited to shop for work clothes is Rebecca Taylor. Her dresses and separates (especially dresses) are cute enough to wear on the weekends and actually make me feel like I look cute at work. Her clothes aren't cheap but her silhouettes are timeless and flattering. I flagged the brand on Gilt so that I know when they are having a sale and am also constantly adding her stuff to my "hearts" on shopbop. Below are a few of my favorite new pieces from her line.

Today on Gilt

I love when Gilt features artists on their Gilt Home site and I especially like the ones they are featuring today. In a section called fluorescent palace, they have awesome technicolor canvases of different sizes. Get on now before it sells out!

Artist of the Day: Jen Lee

Gilt Home is featuring an artist today named Jen Lee. Her bright and colorful prints are, according to her website, inspired by travel and nature. The Los Angeles based artist has worked in fashion for brands like Forever 21 and Abercrombie and Fitch. Below are a few of my favorite pieces. You can buy them today on Gilt Home here or on her webiste here.
