Secret John Street Pins

My parents recently bought a property on John Street in Greenwich that has 3 cottages that my mom fixed up and a six car garage "party barn" that is next on the list. Plans haven't even been drawn yet for the main house but I can imagine it will be wonderful. My mom is looking to have a great, big kitchen, dining room and space for entertaining and lots of fireplaces (of course!). Below are a few of our pins pinned to our secret John Street board that is getting us very excited for construction.

Painted Trim

I've been noticing a that a lot of designers have been experimenting with painting trim a different color than the wall colors and I am loving it! I've seen some adorable wallpapered rooms with beautifully painted trim, as well. What do you guys think of this trend? I love it - it's sort of quirky and whimsical.

X Benches

X benches are popping up everywhere and are being used in every room. They look adorable at the end of a bed or as extra seating in the living room or library. For some reason, they tend to run on the pricier side but websites like Joss and Main and One Kings Lane often have sales on them. I'd love to get a navy one or two with metallic nail heads and even though they are so expensive, I die for the ones on Serena and Lily. This is an awesome link to a DIY x bench. I would also look on Etsy and Ebay for good finds.
