Gift Guide: For the Guys

Hi everyone! I have been getting a lot of requests for my gift guides so here is the first one. I know it's a bit late but hope it helps : ) What are you gifting the guys in your life?

Of course, I'm biased but I pretty much think anything from Johnnie-O is a home run for boys and men. I even gifted the girls in my life this nifty tote bag that I designed.

johnnie-O tie - they have them for boys too!

johnnie-O Sully 1/4 Zip Pullover - they also come with his favorite MLB team logo or select school emblems. With a bunch of colors and super soft material, you really can't go wrong with this one.

johnnie-O polo - there are lots to choose from but this is one of my new favorites. It has a cotton-blend material that holds its shape and is very comfortable for on and off the golf course.

Away bags are practical and stylish. Get him his monogram so he doesn't misplace it in baggage claim.

Speaking of travel bags, I love this one from Mark and Graham, but looks like everyone else does too since it's backordered until March!

I don't know if I'll ever understand this one, but gift it and prepare for some big smiles. One of these axes from Best Made are sure to be a unique favorite under the tree.

Let's talk about shoes: AllBirds and Tods top my gifting list but I am also loving the Common Project ones below. The site where I found the Tods and Common Projects is Mr. Porter and they have one of the better gift guides for men that I've seen.

All Birds - I like this gray or the Moss color

Tods - This gray color is super versatile

Accessories are good stocking stuffers and for under the tree. Everything from wallets, to sunglasses, to a watch, are good bets.

Smathers and Branson Belt - they also have custom ones that are really cool.

Shinola makes a great wallet. Mark and Graham also has some great ones.

I love the look of this classic Shinola watch

A scarf is a gift he won't buy himself but will love when he realizes how much warmer it makes his outfit. This one from Burberry is a forever scarf.

Warby Parker makes great sunglasses for men and women that don't break the bank. I like this pair

Guys always need socks. Give them this fun three pack from Paul Smith.

Electronics can be tricky because lots of guys are particular but the below are some highly requested items.

I actually bought these headphones for myself as well : )

My brother requested this golf gadget

And now some miscellaneous ones:

Truman's makes great men's grooming products and I love the packaging. If the guy you're gifting is in the NYC area, get him a Truman's experience haircut, shave, facial or mani/pedi. He'll feel pampered but it's in a manly setting.

If he needs a new winter/ski jacket, try Stio.

Another thing he won't gift himself but will love? One of these sustainably made, unbelievably thick, plush and delicious cashmere blanket from Naadam. This is another one I bought for myself : )

Okay, that's all I've got for now. For more gift guides or just all around great sites for guys, try Huckberry or Sid Mashburn. Lulu Lemon is also generally a crowd pleaser.

I'm working on my gift guide for the gals and will hopefully have it up before the end of the weekend. For some reason I find it much easier shopping for guys - do you all too?

Gifts for the Boys - johnnie-O

johnnie-O is having an amazing Cyber Monday sale. I personally buy all the guys in my life at least one johnnie-O piece for Christmas every year. Yes, I'm extremely biased but they all seem to love it so it's one stop shopping for me. Today through Wednesday, if you spend $100+ you get 20% off, $250+ you get 30% off and $500+ you get 40% off. My picks below:

For your dad, who likes to look good but likes even more to be comfortable:

For your brother who thinks he's a bit fancier than he is:

For your cousin who has been wearing Cubs gear since they won the World Series:

For your college-aged brother (they have NCAA licenses for a bunch of school):

For your West Coast boyfriend:

For the all the Littles in your life (seriously, cutest present):

When you draw a guy in your office Secret Santa:

My more formal gift guides to follow! Stay tuned.

My Life Lately

I haven't done an update in the new year and it's already March - how did that happen?? Things at johnnie-O have been busy busy busy with photoshoots and new products. I'm just finishing up my second quarter at FIDM for my Apparel Industry Management degree - it has flown by! January highlights include a great trip to Boca Grande and an unbelievable trip to Turks and Caicos with Riley for All-Star Break. I also went home to support NUSEA (national urban squash education association), who was celebrating their 20th anniversary. Lots of traveling! February highlights included the johnnie-O photo shoot, Jackson Hole skiing, super bowl fun and my first trip to Vegas. My best friend, Lauren, was in town after quitting her job and she is now settling in Australia. So fun to get to spend time with her. johnnie-O sponsored the O.A.R concert and green room at the PGA Northern Trust Open at Riviera Golf Course and it was a hit! Finally, I had my whole family in town for my godson, Jack's, baptism and my uncle, Chris, got a star on the walk of fame. I ate well and had fun - here's to a successful Q2!

My Life Lately

Hi everyone! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, etc., etc. I realized I haven't done an update since the beginning of November so I thought I'd let people know what I've been up to. My family came out for Thanksgiving, which was so nice. My aunt and uncle hosted us at their house in Pacific Palisades and we had a group of about 25 people. It was so fun to not have to travel and to show my family around our new hood!

At the beginning of December, work was ramping up at johnnie-O with the holiday season and exams were on the horizon at FIDM so it was busy busy busy. I'm happy to say I passed (yay!) and went home for the holidays.

Christmas in Connecticut was lovely. Riley played New York and New Jersey and then we got to bring him home with us. Santa was very good to me this year. My family and I headed down to Boca Grande where I am currently writing this post. Lulu had her 16th birthday last night, which was so fun! Can't believe how old she's getting! I've had such a great time with friends and family with great food and great fun. Anyways, quick update but I'll hopefully have more time to post this week! Talk soon!

California

Okay - so my Cali talk on here might be a bit overkill but I had the most amazing week in LA and wanted to share some great photos with you all. Tory and I still haven't figured out where we're living (even though I'm moving in 2 weeks!!) but some of the other details are coming together. I spent the week working on location for a photo shoot for johnnie-O and it was the most amazing way to see a lot of southern California. I had never been to Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach and hadn't spent much time in Venice so it was great to be able to explore. It barely felt like work! The weather was perfect the whole time I was there and Louisa (who also came out for the shoot) and I had some amazing meals at Milo + Olive, Farmshop and Blue Plate Tacos. I can't wait to explore lots of new restaurants in LA and for the new adventure ahead. Have a great weekend everyone!

My Life Lately 3.8.14

Spring is in the air (finally)! I officially started working at johnnie-O yesterday and I could not be happier. I am currently working in the Greenwich office until the big move to the west coast in August! I spent some time in Canada and we celebrated Tory's birthday, Easter and a bunch of great meals. That paleo thing for lent didn't go so well, unfortunately. By the way - if anyone needs a Father's Day gift, I know just the thing...
